Peace Sign Tattoo Designs – Do Nothing Until You Read This!   by Richard Blackson

If you’re looking for peace sign tattoo designs then this is the article for you. First we’re going to look at a little bit of the history of the peace sign tattoo, and then I’ll give you a massive resource for the best designs on the web.

The truth about tattoos…

We are in a great position today because we can go to the tattoo parlor and look through thousands of tattoos to find that perfect design. But throughout history peace sign tattoo designs had a whole different meaning.

If you went back a few hundred years the majority of the tattoos where done by tribes men who would all get similar designs for peace and even for war. As you probably know you would not choose a tattoo but it would be give to each member of the tribe as a right of passage.

The Old School peace sign tattoo designs where just done in black ink made from all manner of strange things like burned wood and carbon.

And they where not just peace signs. Tattoos would be given for marriages, before a battle and even when a baby arrived.

One of the nicest things about these old school designs is that people believed it was a way to find your wife in heaven because each tattoo was unique.

Another slightly more sinister use for the tattoo was for young girls about to get married. They would tattoo the face of the young woman to make sure that she could withstand the pain of childbirth.

This even happens today in some tribes, although often a girl can choose not to go through the ritual.

Final thoughts

I hope you enjoyed this short look into the world of the peace sign tattoo. Just be thankful that you can go to a nice clean tattoo gallery and have yours done in a very pain free way…

If you where living a few hundred years ago your tattoo would be inked by cutting open your skin and using chisels!

Good luck.
